Hallway Radiators

Making the most of a narrow wall

Hallways rarely have a long, clear wall. This collection groups radiators that suit tight spaces:

• Vertical radiators, such as Zehnder Kleo, Zehnder Excelsior and Reina Neva, which use height instead of width.
• Column radiators, in horizontal and vertical forms, with a traditional look that suits period hallways.
• Panel radiators no wider than 600mm, for a short stretch of wall between doors.

Measure the wall, allow room for the valves and pipes, and check the door swing before you choose. In a hall with a staircase, the space under the stairs or on the landing can also take a radiator.

How much heat does a hallway need?

Our BTU calculator uses its lowest allowance for hallways. It gives a rough estimate only: a hall with a front door that is opened often, a stairwell rising to the floor above or single glazing can need more. Where a product page lists a heat output, compare it with your estimate. Outputs are only directly comparable when both products state the same ΔT.

Comparing styles

A vertical radiator and a horizontal one with the same output take up very different areas of wall, so compare the height and width on each product page as well as the output. Vertical designer ranges come in flat, tubular and column styles.
