Is 8000 BTU the right output?
If you have not worked out the room yet, use our BTU calculator first: it gives an estimate, in BTU, of the heat the room needs. For an accurate figure for your room, ask a qualified heating engineer.
Compare outputs like for like
Each product page shows its rated output, and the test condition (ΔT) where it is stated. Outputs are only directly comparable when both products state the same ΔT. Not every brand quotes the same ΔT, so two radiators in this band may not give the same heat in your home.
What you will find in this band
Panel radiators
Double K2 and triple K3 panels, for example Myson Select Compact T33 and Stelrad Compact sizes. Check the width against your wall.
Cast iron column radiators
Wallace and Squires Ionic models in 4 and 6 column builds make up a good share of the band. Cast iron radiators are heavy, so follow the manufacturer's fixing instructions and ask a qualified installer to check the wall or floor.
Designer radiators
Zehnder Charleston, Myson Decor and Stelrad Planar models, for when the radiator is part of the room's look.
Horizontal or vertical
Most radiators in this band are horizontal: 66 of the 74, with 8 vertical models. Use the orientation filter to switch between them, and check the height of each vertical model on its product page.
Narrow the list
Filter by brand, type, height and width, or let the radiator finder combine your measurements with this output. For neighbouring outputs, see radiators of 9000 to 9249 BTU, or browse column radiators and panel radiators by size.
